Halifax County, Deed Book 16, page 306, 30 OCT 1793
The purchase Deed of a James Milam.
On 30 OCT 1793 James Milam bought "one hundred and twenty-five acres more or less" of land in Halifax County from Obediah Gent for 70 Pounds current money of Virginia. It was "...bounded by the following lines to wit Archer Farman, Reubens Baglands, James Baglands, Alexander Sittens, Edmund & Robert Atkins".
The Deed was witnessed by three witnesses, none a Milam: Nicholas Formly, Robert Atkins and Fredrick Colquite.
The Deed was proven in Court on 24 FEB 1794.
