"This Indenture made this 28th day of November 1785 between Samuel Jack of Bedford County of the one part and Ann Milam of the said County of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Samuel Jack for and in Consideration of the Sum of One Hundred and twenty two Pounds Current Money of Virginia to him in Hand paid, the Receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge, dothy grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said Ann Milam her Heirs and Assigns forever one certain Tract or parcel of land containing three Hundred and four acres....on the branches of Little Otter River and bounded as followeth, Beginning where Talbot's line crosses the dividing branch.....etc. thence along McLaughlin's line...etc".
